Ensuring all products and deliverables are 508 compliant is a complex job that requires in-depth knowledge of agency information technology (IT) business and procurement processes, appreciation for the needs of individuals with disabilities, and a clear understanding of the laws, standards, and policies that govern the accessibility of IT in the Federal government.
Trevital addresses these needs across the agency, and provides IT teams and managers who are champions for accessible technology, and able to promote access to training, tools, and resources that enable agency components to deliver solutions that support the needs of all users.
508 Compliance and Remediation
To ensure all documentation created during a project is 508 compliant, our team is responsible to review, format, edit, and copyedit content and maintain work products according to Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, WCAG 2.0, plain language, and other federal accessibility guidelines.
Web Development
Web-based 508 compliant includes development following 508 guidelines along with customer-focused testing throughout the entire project lifecycle to deliver production-ready software. Testing includes 508 compliance using WAVE during development and JAWS testing for all Users with Disabilities who have the opportunity to endure the content and data delivered through the products we deliver. Trevital follows US Web Design Services (USDWS) from concept to design to development, it is never an afterthought.

Lead the agency’s IT Accessibility/508 Program, a complex agency-wide responsibility that touches all parts of the organization
Understand
Understand how Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and related laws, regulations, policies, and standards apply to the project
Assistive
Have a fair understanding of assistive technologies used by people with disabilities
Compliance
Lead efforts to establish Section 508 compliance policies and processes throughout the organization
Promote
Promote the benefits of accessible technology, and advocate and negotiate to improve the accessibility of agency IT products and solutions
Manage
Lead compliance management activities for digital services and technology covered under the Section 508 law
Ensure
Ensure agency staff have access to accessibility training and tools
Assess
